About Me

I have been writing for .. oh.. 20 years or so.  I hate to date myself but the time does slip away.

I started writing children’s books and had several series that I started to put together. I not only wrote a couple of books but also did the illustrations. I enjoyed it but it became more work than passion and the time invested in the illustrations was exhausting.

While I was still in children’s book writer mode, my husband and I visited Mystic, CT and walked through Mystic Seaport.  If you have never been there, it is a beautiful place and a historical snapshot of an old whaling village.  While meandering through the village and beautiful homes, I found my imagination just took flight.

It was during this visit to Mystic Seaport that I realized I had spent the better part of my childhood and adult life thinking:  “I wish I could write a book.”  In one brief moment, I caught myself saying that once again and for the first time in my life, followed that up with, “Why can’t I?”

That was the beginning of my novel writing journey.

Five years later, I had completed my first novel. The novel is still tucked away and in its fortieth rewrite. Someday it will see the light of day as I still love it.

The next novel took a quicker pace and 11 chapters and 80,000 words later, I opted to change the whole venue of the story and started from scratch. I still have that old work as I am a believer in always going back to former writing. You never know what you can pull out of it.

Now, in 2014, I have completed not only my first novel but most of the first trilogy. This all started as one large novel but I have learned that most first novels are not quite that long. So, I opted to split the project into three books and the first trilogy of the Hidden Heritage Series was born. I hope that in grabbing ‘Dark Hollow‘, the reader will be enticed to follow Tabitha on her journey to find her mother and meet her father.

I am looking forward to hearing what you think! There are a couple of additional novels in the Hidden Heritage series so I hope you will take the plunge with me to find out more about Tabitha’s saga.

In the meantime, I am wrapping up ‘Dark Hollow‘ and finalizing the plans for the global debut! I hope you will take a few minutes to explore the webs site. I have posted the first 10 pages of the book as well as some of the short stories I had written over the years.
